I’m originally from Co. Antrim on the north east coast of Ireland but have been living in Aberdeen, Scotland for over 35 years now. My music has been influenced in my early days with the playing of the great Irish legends, Planxty, Christy Moore, Paul Brady, Andy Irvine and Van Morrison. Along with my native folk music, I have been influenced and inspired by the American and Canadian songwriting of James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot, John Prine and the late great Stan Rogers, to name a few. I have a small collection of my own songs which I’m always working on to expand and in recent years have been swayed towards the relatively new genre of Americana music. Together, with all these influences, my music is a nice mix of Celtic folk, singer/songwriter and Americana/Country which I hope you will enjoy!
‘Influenced and Inspired’ is my latest album, released in April 2019. As the title says, it is a mix of songs by some of the songwriters who have influenced me over the years. There are also five songs written by myself and two co-written with friends. It is available to download here by clicking the link, also through Spotify, iTunes and Amazon music. Alternatively, I can send a CD copy if you fill out the contact section.
